THE FATAL flight was organised by Unicorn Travel, of Park Street, Bristol It was just another of the routine day return i excursions from Bristol to Switzerland. which it has been running since August. The cost was £16.50. And the advertising leaflet for the trip said “Let Unicorn whisk you to the fairy tale country of Switzerland for the day of your dreams.” Mr. Fred Tjolle, father of Unicorn managing director, was on board with another member of staff to see that things went smoothly.
He survived and is in hospital. Mr. Valere Tjolle said last night: “We are stunned by this. “It is a horrible disaster. Today has been hell.” Unicorn, which was set up three years ago, operates from small second-floor headquarters above a shop. Since March, its programme has been operated by a subsidiary of Invicta, Faircourt Tours Ltd. A Unicorn spokesman said: “This was due to financial difficulties in Unicorn, but it is not a take- over.
